Monitoring is normally “NO FRILLS”(alarm signals only, no daily test, no extras) there is normally no “no false alarm guarantee.” Most monitoring stations charge only $14.95 per month for this very basic service. Therefor your actual system cost over a three-year period is the difference between the $14.95 and $24.95, which is $10.00 per month. Or $360.00 over a three-year period. The offer looks attractive because of the no money down. However when you consider all of the factors and read the fine print you are actually getting less service for more money over the long run. Once extras are added the monthly fee quickly increases. It is not unusual to end up with a monthly fee around the $34.95 mark.
Monitoring is full service; all signals including a daily confidence test are transmitted. A full “no false alarm guarantee” covers the system. Better equipment is installed. The labor factor is lower because we do not use sub contractors. The sales and administrative service is also lower because all employees are paid by salary not commission. We will sell or lease systems in any fashion customer requests, we would simply like you to know what you are getting for the price you pay and the contract you sign. However even our leased systems send a daily confidence test signal. |
